To support the continuous improvement of the quality of care provided to the chronically ill in Québec, INESSS has been mandated by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux [Ministry of Health and Social Services] to develop quality, clinical and organizational indicators related to the management of the following chronic diseases:

• cardiovascular diseases: hypertension, coronary disease and dyslipidemia;
• respiratory diseases: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma;
• type 1 and type 2 diabetes in adults.
