Sustainable Development

On December 12, 2007, the Government Sustainable Development Strategy 2008-2013 was tabled in the National Assembly by Jean Charest, the Premier of Québec. The Strategy serves as the government’s frame of reference for sustainable development. In 2013, this strategy has been extended until 2015

The staff and close partners of INESSS are aware of the importance of a healthy environment and the role of sustainable development in society. The Sustainable Development Act provides INESSS with a big incentive to structure its initiatives and to pay more attention to the issue.

INESSS filed its first sustainable development action plan in march 2013. This plan presents the selected objectives and actions to be taken by 2015. Using this plan, INESSS contributes to its means and in accordance with its mission, the government's approach to sustainable development.
