Tertiary Cardiology Evaluation Unit publishes article in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology (CJC) 6 June 2012
Heart disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in Québec. The mission of the Tertiary Cardiology Evaluation Unit (TCEU) at INESSS is to evaluate the delivery of cardiac care in Québec and play a role in improving and optimizing it.
The TCEU has conducted work to examine the number of percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) reported in two different data sources in Québec: the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) medical claims database and Maintenance et exploitation des données pour l’étude de la clientèle hospitalière (MED-ÉCHO). The main goal of the analysis was to quantify the agreement in PCI data between the two data sources.
The report was published in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology (CJC) on March 19, 2012. You can consult the article now or read the full report online.
