Alternatives to timolol for the treatment of glaucoma

INESSS invited experts to share their opinion and discuss issues related to the applicability and acceptability of available alternatives to timolol for the treatment of glaucoma.

The timolol gel-forming ophthalmic solution, Timoptic XE^TM, is the best alternative to the timolol ophthalmic solution. However, due to difficulties in supplying the raw materials, this is not a sustainable, long-term option. A range of other therapeutic options are thus proposed in this rapid response.
