The Collectif pour les Meilleures Pratiques et l’Amélioration des Soins et Services+ (CoMPAS+) [collective for best practices and the improvement of care and services+] is a Québec program for the continuous improvement of care and outreach services. Coordinated and implemented by the Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS), this program is intended for stakeholder groups that wish to enhance the quality of prevention and follow-up with individuals suffering from a chronic disease or at risk thereof. At the same time, CoMPAS+ aims to ensure that the entire population served enjoys a better care and service experience.
The CoMPAS+ approach consists basically of reflective practice workshops. Focusing on the benefits of interprofessional collaboration and partnerships with users, the workshops seek to identify targets for improvement, possible avenues of action and procedures for implementing these actions—all for the purpose of strengthening the prevention and management of the chronic disease in question within the geographical area. An action plan is developed at the end of the workshops; it is then implemented and monitored over a period of approximately 12 months.
The program is financially supported by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) [Ministry of Health and Social Services] and is monitored by the Comité de gestion du réseau (CGR) [network management committee].
