The HAS has published a report on lipolysis for aesthetic purposes
17 May 2011

In December 2010, the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS) published a report evaluating the techniques of lipolysis performed for aesthetic purposes. The key mandate of the HAS is to promote good practices and service use among health professionals and health care users. The report was carried out at the request of the Direction générale de la santé (DGS) and aimed to evaluate the risks of lipolysis. The DGS had been notified of complications related to lipolysis for weight loss purposes, which was being performed as an alternative to surgical procedures. These complications have seriously impacted users and resulted in high health insurance costs.
