The 2nd annual social services symposium, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal28 April 2011
The 2nd annual social services symposium (link available in French only) opens tomorrow, on Friday, April 29, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The event addresses the issues and challenges of clinical practice guides and will bring together over 200 professionals, administrators, researchers and other individuals from all sectors of social service, whose work ranges from children in the child welfare system to persons with addictions or physical or intellectual disabilities.
Hosted by journalist Françoise Guénette, the symposium, through lectures and debates, aims to discuss the issues and challenges faced by administrators, clinicians and users alike in the development and implementation of clinical practice guides.
Among the presenters will be Ilse Julkenen, a professor at the University of Helsinki specializing in research on social service practices. She will be discussing best practices used within different fields of social services in Finland. The symposium will be opened by Dr. Juan Roberto Iglesias, the CEO of the Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS).
This symposium is the first event organized by INESSS since it began operating on January 19, 2011. INESSS’s mandate is to promote clinical excellence and efficient use of health and social service resources.
