Perspectives of people of female sex on perineal and pelvic training to prevent and treat pelvic floor dysfunction
L’Institut national d’excellence en santé et services sociaux (INESSS), a parapublic organization whose mission is to promote clinical excellence and the efficient use of resources in the health and social services sector, has been given the mandate to evaluate the relevance of including perineal and pelvic training in the range of public services. As an integral part of this evaluation, INESSS wishes to include the perspectives of people affected by, or at risk for, pelvic floor dysfunction (e.g. urinary incontinence, organ descent, perineal or pelvic pain, difficulties with sexual function).
For this project, INESSS is looking for adults of female sex, regardless of their gender identity, who would like to share, through an online questionnaire, their care experiences related to their condition, the impact of their condition on their quality of life and their perspectives on perineal and pelvic training as an option to prevent or treat pelvic floor dysfunction.
In order to reply to the questionnaire, you must:
- be a person of female sex aged 18 years or older, regardless of your gender identity;
- have a condition or be in a situation or phase of life (e.g. being pregnant, menopausal or a high-performance athlete) which has or can lead to pelvic floor dysfunction AND for which perineal and pelvic training is, has or could be indicated;
- have previously had a condition or been in a phase of life which has or can lead to pelvic floor dysfunction AND for which perineal and pelvic training has or could have been indicated.
It is not necessary to use (or have used) perineal and pelvic training in order to reply to the questionnaire.
IF YOU MEET THE CRITERIA AND WISH TO PARTICIPATE, FOLLOW ONE OF THE LINKS BELOW IN ORDER TO FILL OUT A QUESTIONNAIRE ONLINE, WHICH TAKES ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO COMPLETE (AVAILABLE In ENGLISH oR IN FRENCH):
