Notice Santécom: 120458
This state of practices is intended to provide an overview of the Québec adult trauma care network between 2013 and 2016, by describing the profile of patients who sustained traumatic injuries, the care pathways (trajectories) and the performance of the designated acute care trauma facilities using process and outcome indicators. It also seeks to estimate the trauma admissions to all Québec acute care facilities.
A description of patients admitted to the network between 2013 and 2016 and of their care trajectories was carried out. Thirteen process indicators and four outcome indicators were used to measure the quality and performance of the designated adult trauma care facilities. Finally, a description of adult trauma admissions between 2006 and 2016 to any acute care facility in Québec, whether it was specifically designated to provide trauma care or not, was produced to obtain a more complete portrait of the Québec situation.
Principal findings and avenues for reflection on potential actions are suggested by INESSS in response to the concerns raised by the various analyses.
